MIAMI — The MIAMI Association of Realtors (MIAMI) installed 2025 MIAMI Residential President Jonathan J. Alfonso at its Inaugural & Awards Celebration on Feb. 7 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.
“Real estate has the power to transform lives—I know this firsthand,” Jonathan said. “As the son of a single mother who built a career in real estate, I am living proof of the opportunities this industry creates. My mother, an immigrant, provided for our family, built wealth, and paved the way for me to stand before you today, leading in the largest Realtor association in the country.”
The Residential Board of MIAMI is dedicated to leadership in the industry, the real estate profession, and the communities it serves. They analyze information, are actively and visibly involved in events and programming, and promote Miami and South Florida worldwide. The association represents over 60,000 residential, commercial, and international real estate professionals.

Alfonso is One of the Leaders Assigned to the MIAMI Condo Task Force
Alfonso is the Team Leader of The Portal Team brokered by EXP Realty, LLC. He has more than 17 years of experience in real estate across a broad spectrum. Alfonso commenced his career in real estate as an attorney having founded the Law Firm of Title Answers, a Law Firm which was founded to serve institutional investors in the acquisition of single-family rentals.
Alfonso’s practice evolved to a full spectrum of real estate related services and he became a licensed real estate agent in 2014 and went on to become an Independent Real Estate Broker in 2020 founding Portal Real Estate.
His clients range from first-time home buyers to sophisticated investors from Wall Street. He has worked on several thousand transactions in his various capacities. Alfonso brings all this experience to his clients and agents who benefit from his industry experience and relationships.
In 2024, Alfonso was one of the leaders assigned to the Condo Task Force. This task force was launched by MIAMI REALTORS® to provide even more support and advocacy for condo owners and associations in the wake of new state condo regulations requiring inspections of older condominium buildings and adequate reserves for repairs.
In January 2025, Alfonso was among the experts who testified in Tallahassee to the Senate Regulated Industries Committee on how the new state laws requiring inspections and adequate reserves have affected the residential condo market.
Alfonso testified that the laws mostly have had an impact on the sales of older condos. He said studies can be difficult for buyers to obtain or to digest while advocating for greater transparency by condominiums and their management companies.
On February 14th, 2025, Alfonso will continue to advocate for condominium reform and is one of the leaders helping MIAMI REALTORS® to host a Condo Summit at the Miami Global Headquarters in Miami Springs. Alfonso will be moderating a panel with Senator Jason Pizzo, Senator Jennifer Bradley and Representative Vicky Lopez. The Summit will also include additional panels with top legal and policy experts on the latest condo-related laws and issues.
Alfonso is also involved with the Realtors Political Action Committee, the United Way, Cuban American Bar Association (CABA), the Alumni Association of his High School Alma Mater Belen Jesuit. He enjoys devoting any time outside of work to his wife and two sons and watching Miami Heat games with them.
