MIAMI — The MIAMI Association of Realtors (MIAMI) installed 2023 MIAMI Commercial President Jennifer M. Forbes, C2EX at its Inaugural & Awards Celebration on Feb. 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

 

“I am honored to lead the largest commercial Realtor association in Florida and one of the largest in the nation,” Forbes said. “MIAMI Commercial — home to the first Commercial Multiple Listing Service in the nation — has been an innovator and market leader since our start in 1992. Our 2023 leadership will continue to expand our legacy, which offers the best commercial-specific products and services, commercial data distribution and extends more resources to our members.”

 

MIAMI Commercial impacts key policy decisions and important issues affecting the commercial real estate industry, analyzes market information, produces strong legislative initiatives, provides vital member services, and presents commercial networking events and programming throughout the year.

 

With over 3,200 members, MIAMI Commercial offers more education, marketing tools and services than any other commercial association. MIAMI Commercial recently achieved the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) highest distinction, the 2022-23 Diamond Level Commercial Services accreditation.

 

Miami Native & Third-Generation Realtor Leading MIAMI Commercial

Forbes is the founder and broker/owner of Commercial TeamMates, Inc. in Miami.

 

Forbes began her real estate career in 1989 with The Graham Companies, the developers of the Town of Miami Lakes. She transitioned to retail property marketing and management and facilitated the leasing of five shopping centers including the new, innovative Shops of Main Street. She also leased office, flex, and industrial properties in a portfolio of 2.4 million square feet.

 

She joined Shula’s Steakhouses during its early developmental years, leading in merchandising, business development training, real estate site selection and construction project management for new and existing restaurant locations.

 

Forbes entered third party real estate brokerage in 2003, becoming a top producer at Horizon Properties of Miami. She founded Commercial TeamMates in 2007 as broker/owner providing brokerage and advisory services to owners and users of commercial real estate.

 

Forbes is a third-generation Realtor. She serves as a State Director, Commercial Alliance Committee member, Diversity Committee member and Global Business Committee member for the Florida Realtors. She also serves as National Director for the National Association of Realtors, Leading Edge Advisory Board, and the Commercial Committee.

 

Forbes was a panelist speaker at the Florida Realtors Presents: Empowerment of Women in Real Estate in Dubai UAE and a panelist speaker at the International Council of Shopping Centers Florida Conference presenting The Purposeful Pivot: Leveraging Your Strengths to Re-Energize Your Career.

 

She is a proud Realtor Political Action Committee Crystal R Major Investor. She is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Commercial Real Estate Women, Certified Commercial Investment Member Florida Chapter Miami-Dade Monroe District and the Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida. Forbes also volunteers for a non-profit in the South Florida community. She is an active board member of the Junior Orange Bowl and is a former chair, now committee member, of The Creative Writing Competition which empowers the youth to pursue multi-cultural experiences.

 

She was born and raised in Miami. Her mother immigrated to Miami with her family from Havana, Cuba in 1953 and her father of Polish heritage settled in Miami after serving in multiple branches of the armed forces. She has four siblings. She is happily married to John; who is the principal, lead architect, and general contractor at Forbes Architects & Forbes Construction. They have two beautiful daughters, Stephanie and Sophia. Forbes is fluent in English and Spanish.
