Why should someone choose YOU to be their real estate agent, among all other options available to them, including every other real estate agent they know? Acquiring the mastery of a buyer agent checklist is the first step to ensuring that buyers are confident that you will represent them in all aspects of their home purchase.
A real estate agent buyer INTERVIEW with a complete checklist is a tool that helps real estate agents stay organized and assist their customers effectively and should be first step of the home buying process. This checklist contains tasks and considerations that buyers should be aware of before, during, and after purchasing a property. These checklists can be used to guide customers through various stages of the home buying journey, such as mortgage pre-approval, successful house hunting, making an offer, contract-to-close, and post-closing activities. A comprehensive real estate agent buyer checklist will typically cover additional aspects such as earnest money amount, contingencies (e.g., financing, home sale, inspection, or appraisal), and waived contingencies. They are designed to ensure that both the agent and the buyer are well-prepared and informed throughout the transaction.
This class will cover some key items that a real estate agent buyer checklist for making an offer may include:
1. Types of loans, FHA vs. Conv, 5-10-20% down, PMI? MI? Max PITI explain they would live by the payment not by purchase price
2. Talk about taxes, similar houses with tax amount so different, homestead exemption and portability if apply.
3. Contract process: lender, title company , inspector, appraisal, and HOA application
4. What Is an Appraisal, how is the market? Seller or buyer’s market?
5. What type of Property? SFH, condo, townhome? Size, bedrooms, pool, garage. HOA pros and cons.
6. This is an elimination process for houses that are out of the buyer’s price range or desired area.
These are some of the basic elements that can be found in most property purchase offers. However, it’s important to note that each offer may vary based on location and market conditions. Customizing it will help your customers avoid confusion. Checking in often with your customers to see where they are on completing their checklist can also be helpful. Through the use of these checklists, agents can ensure that they are providing their customers with the best possible service and that they are not missing any important steps along the way.
