MIAMI REALTORS® Appointed as ACOBIR’s Ambassador Association, Launching More Business Between Panama and Miami

MIAMI — The MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI) has recently been appointed as the Ambassador Association of La Asociación Panameña de Corredores y Promotores de Bienes Raíces (ACOBIR), a partnership that will lead to more business, networking and synergy between Panama and Miami/South Florida.

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) pairs each local U.S. association with a global association to foster more educational programs, events and referrals between REALTORS®. MIAMI REALTORS® had been SECOVI-SP (Brazil) ambassador association since the launch of the NAR program after the two associations signed MIAMI’s landmark first-ever international agreement in 1996.

“Panama has been a global partner for many years,” MIAMI CEO Teresa King Kinney said. “Recently, we were requested to be the NAR Ambassador Association to ACOBIR/Panama. We are eager to expand the connections between Panama and Miami, even further help our respective members do more business, share, participate and welcome each other at global events.”

ACOBIR, which was founded in 1973 and signed an international honorary reciprocal agreement with MIAMI in 2005, requested MIAMI REALTORS® because it sought an organization with similar geographical and cultural similarities along with significant international opportunities.

“As the real estate market in Miami holds significant national and international prominence, partnering with the Miami Realtors Association should foster increased networking opportunities and exchange of knowledge for both organizations,” ACOBIR Liaison and Former ACOBIR President Jose Boyd Sevilla said. “Joint initiatives, cultural exchanges and market insights related to Florida’s real estate landscape will greatly benefit our members and contribute to the overall growth and success of the Global Ambassadors Program.”

MIAMI REALTORS® is home to an award-winning international global council. The association has a record 260 global partners in more than 70 countries and hosts an annual Global Real Estate Congress. MIAMI REALTORS® was the first U.S. association to receive Diamond status, the highest achievement possible, in NAR’s Global Achievement Program.

After a recent biennial review, MIAMI REALTORS® was recertified once again as a Global Diamond Council through 2025.
