DO NOT IGNORE CALLS AND EMAILS FROM FREC OR DBPR

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) and Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) are contacting new licensees who are missing the pre-licensing course completion certificate. They are making calls and sending emails – they are legitimate. Do not ignore them. Failing to respond to FREC or DBPR or failing to submit your documentation (even if it is late), could result in prosecution and revocation of your real estate license.

DOES THIS APPLY TO YOU?

This applies to you if you took the real estate test online during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020, 2021, and January through June of 2022), but DID NOT submit your pre-licensing certificate to FREC.

WHAT TO DO NOW:
  • Check to see if you submitted your pre-licensing certificate to FREC if you took the real estate test online during 2020, 2021, or January through June of 2022.
    • If you did NOT submit it, do it ASAP. You risk being fined, paying investigation costs, and a reprimand, but it is much less likely that your license will be revoked. Fax it to FREC at 850-488-8040 with a cover letter explaining that it is proof of your pre-licensing course completion certificate. Keep a copy of the fax.
    • If you are UNSURE, send it again.
  • If you do not have a copy of your pre-licensing certificate, contact the course provider to request it.
  • If you have additional questions, contact FREC at 850-487-1395.
