The MIAMI Association of REALTORS® is honored to have one of its members, Patti Fitzgerald, named to the Florida Real Estate Commission, which administers and enforces real estate license law. Fitzgerald is a past president of the statewide Florida Realtors association and is currently a real estate broker associate and manager for Illustrated Properties in Hobe Sound.

Governor Rick Scott announced Fitzgerald’s appointment on Feb. 5. Fitzgerald, of Jupiter, will succeed Roger Enzor and is appointed to a three-year term ending October 31, 2019. The Florida Real Estate Commission consists of seven members and meets monthly. The Florida Senate must confirm the appointment.

“It’s very exciting and rewarding to be fulfilling this position at this time in my career,” Fitzgerald said. “I’ve spent almost 40 years in the real estate business, and serving on the Florida Real Estate Commission is the ultimate service to my profession and the citizens of Florida.”

Fitzgerald is a longtime member of the Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe-Sound association, which is now a part of the MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI). The Florida Realtors’ 2013 Realtor of the Year, Fitzgerald has served on many real estate committees and projects.

Fitzgerald currently chairs the JTHS Public Policy Committee, which monitors Palm Beach and Martin counties government affairs for the 1,600-plus members in JTHS. Fitzgerald is also the executive chair for the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County, a coalition working to improve workforce housing in Palm Beach.

Among her many accomplishments, Fitzgerald is one of the founding members and a past president of the Jupiter chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. She was also instrumental in the formation of Renewal Coalition, a program that assists wounded military and their families.

On the state level, Fitzgerald has served Florida Realtors as District 3 vice president, secretary, president-elect, and in 2011, as Florida Realtors president. She has also chaired numerous committees. She chaired the Realtor Image Task Force that produced the Florida Realtors Scholarship Essay Contest.

Nationally, Fitzgerald spent seven years on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Communications Committee. She was key in developing NAR’s advertising campaign.

Fitzgerald is also a fixture in the community, volunteering for causes such as Wounded Warriors, Paws for Patriots, Habitat for Humanity and the North County Entertainment Council. She also raised money for R.O.C.K. Camp, a local camp for children with cancer. Fitzgerald helped Parade of Neighborhoods, an affordable home project that makes the American Dream of homeownership a reality for the underprivileged. Her efforts helped JTHS earn the NAR’s Ambassadors for Cities award in 2009.
