MIAMI — The Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound Council of the MIAMI Association Realtors (JTHS-MIAMI) recently partnered with Jupiter-based A-1 Moving & Storage and Move For Hunger, a non-profit fighting hunger, to provide more than 40,000 meals for Palm Beach County neighbors in need.

JTHS-MIAMI helped to deliver 31,425 pounds of food to the Palm Beach County Food Bank and 17,552 pounds to El Sol, Jupiter’s Community Resource Center. About 40,800 meals can be made with the food donations.

“Hunger is an ongoing challenge in Palm Beach County and we are honored to partner with A-1 Moving & Storage and Move For Hunger on this amazing donation,” 2019 JTHS-MIAMI President Kim Price said.

About 13.6% percent of the Palm Beach County population is food insecure, with 189,940 people not knowing from where they will get their next meal, according to the Map the Meal Gap 2018 report by Feeding America.

Brad Westover -- a Keller Williams Realtor, member of JTHS-MIAMI and stake President for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints -- coordinated with his church to help with this amazing donation.

A-1 Moving & Storage is South Florida's most experienced mover and is an Atlas Interstate Agent in Jupiter.

Move For Hunger is a non-profit organization that has created a sustainable way for the relocation industry to reduce food waste and fight hunger. In addition to collecting food from people who are moving to new homes, Move For Hunger also helps companies and individuals across the United States and Canada organize successful food drives. To date, they have collected more than 15 million pounds of food. For more information, or to find out how you can host your own food drive, visit www.MoveForHunger.org.
